How to write a handyman estimate for several small jobs

Turn “a few repairs” into a task list

Write the location, quantity and expected result of each repair. For example: adjust one cabinet door so it closes properly, replace two handles with approved parts, and repair a specified section of decorative trim.

Check access and existing condition. Flag tasks that need further inspection before you can commit to a fixed price. A clear list is more useful than a single “miscellaneous repairs” line.

Make labor and parts easy to distinguish

Use understandable units: per handle, per repair or agreed hours. State whether each rate includes parts. If the customer supplies materials, confirm that the right items will be available.

Set boundaries for additional work

Hidden damage or a new request may change the scope. Pause and agree the extra work and price before proceeding. Preserve the accepted estimate and prepare a separate document when needed.
